- .HS Hash_PrintStats lib

- .SH NAME
- Hash_PrintStats \- print statistics about a hash table
- .SH SYNOPSIS
- \fB#include <hash.h>\fR
- .sp
- \fBHash_PrintStats\fR(\fItablePtr, proc, clientData\fR)
- .AS ClientData clientData
- .SH ARGUMENTS
- .AP Hash_Table *tablePtr in
- Table about which to print information.
- .AP void (*proc)() in
- Procedure to call to actually print information.
- .AP ClientData clientData in
- Arbitrary additional argument to be passed to \fIproc\fP.

- .SH DESCRIPTION
- .LP
- \fBHash_PrintStats\fR prints out statistical information about bucket
- usage in \fItablePtr\fP. The information includes the total number
- of buckets and entries in the table, plus a histogram indicating
- how many buckets have each different number of entries in them.
- .LP
- \fBHash_PrintStats\fR does not output the statistics information directly.
- Instead, it invokes \fIproc\fP to do the output. Proc must
- have the following calling sequence:
- .DS
- .ta 1c 2c 3c
- void
- proc(\fIclientData, string\fP)
- ClientData \fIclientData\fP;
- char *\fIstring\fP;
- {
- }
- .DE
- .LP
- The \fIclientData\fP parameter will be the same as the \fIclientData\fP
- to \fBHash_PrintStats\fR; ostensibly it provides information to help \fIproc\fP
- perform the actual I/O, such as channel number. \fIString\fP is
- a NULL-terminated string of characters containing the statistical
- information. \fIProc\fP may be invoked many times during a single
- call to \fBHash_PrintStats\fR.
